Entering Coherence with Nature
Aug 06, 2025Are you living in balance with Nature?
It is not so hard to do. Please bear with me as I get to the simplicity of it, just below.
So many cultures, so many elders and traditions, tell us;
Life is about living in ‘right’, or living relationship with nature, the Earth, with the living energies of all Life.
My Peruvian elders of the Q’ero nation say it clearly. We are in the time of “Taripay Pacha,” “The Time of Meeting Our Selves Again.” It is a prophesied time of great transformation for all humanity, for life itself, as so many cultures and prophecies speak of, from the Hopi and Maya, to Nostradamus and so, so many more. I was just with a gathering of elders, who reminded me of the passage that has already occurred of Earth and Sky, into the new era; and, that this is why so many of us feel ‘out of synch’ with time, our lives, perhaps reality itself.
And, thus, it is a ‘grand’ time to come into, to re-enter that living relationship with Earth and Sky, to live in balance, or coherence with Nature.
In the Q’ero way, it is about coming into a living relationship with the living elements, the living forces, the ancestral realms, the living consciousness of “Earth and Sky,” and all therein.
All things are living, vibrant, conscious.
How do you feel when you read that?
Are you in balance with that statement, or does it not ring true?
While this does not ring as well in much of Western or modern civilization, it is fundamental to indigenous and most long-standing traditional cultures and spiritual paths. It is a ‘kindergarten’ level of understanding, meaning our children are allowed to, supported in, brought to that understanding, through direct experience. We are not taught to ignore the voices in the trees, or backyard, but to honor our living relatives in all things. One of my favorite Q’ero practices is in embracing a tree, and asking for the wisdom of the ancestors (specifically a grandmother,) to come through your relationship with that tree, and reveal pertinent wisdom to you.
All things are alive, and conscious.
Even science is at the point of saying, literally, “We would be hard pressed to not say that every atom is not conscious.” (I love the double negative of it, but that is a quote from a well-known physicist.)
But what does that mean? To come into living relation, that all things are alive and conscious?
Does he mean sentient? Yes.
Have a seat.
Take a breath.
Indeed, this is a great exercise to do in nature.
From your rooftop or balcony, your backyard, a city park, or deep, deep in nature, such as where I live, in Vermont. Every city has nature not so far away. Most of you have been there. The vast majority of you have incredible, exquisite experiences and fond memories of being in nature.
Can you remember them, and the extraordinary feelings and enlivened states you experienced there?
Why can we not do it more often?
Well, we can. Just go there with me. Or, alone, it does not matter.
Be there for a few moments; even if in your imagination from your living room or office, wherever you may be reading this.
Imagine it, or journey there; a dear, sweet spot in nature.
Perhaps one you know and love. Perhaps one that calls to you for the first time, as just happened to me on my way home from that Elders Gathering. But just be there, with me, just for these moments, in nature.
Now, where were we? Ah, yes.
Take a moment.
Find a dear spot.
Have a seat.
Take a breath.
Allow the atmosphere to penetrate and permeate your breath, your lungs.
Feel the goodness of it.
Let the rich vitality of the air itself stir and awaken you. Air is a powerful element, filled with vital life force. Chi. Prana. Mana. Ruah. What does your culture call it? What is your remembrance of it? Feel it.
Feel the firmament of the soil beneath you, and how it supports your every move and breath.
The vital texture of the lichen, the moss, the grass, the forest floor, the desert or ocean sand, the grasses of the field.
Be with it. BE, with it.
Just rest in it. Just for these brief moments with me.
Feel the beauty of nature surrounding you. Use your imagination if you cannot be there. It, too, is a vital force of nature. It can be that rich forest, an open prairie, gentle rolling woodlands or vast ocean or desert. The environ does not so much matter, as the awakening of your senses.
Let the Earth speak; feel its resonance.
Yes, it has resonance, wave form, it is speaking to you, informing you of its subtle beauty and texture. It has a voice. Be with it. Imagine it. Be still. Listen.
It is not a language-based communication, or communion.
Yes, indeed, it is more a communion, an interchange of feelings, waves of vital energy, resonance. Breathe in. Breathe out.
Let your breath open you to the vast open space you are in. Even in a dense forest or jungle.
Feel the vastness of nature.
You may live in a city in which you feel little of it remains.
Yet, overall, the Earth is far more nature than human-made environment.
Just feel it, experience it, be with it. Let it be alive.
Now, or at another time, find a gentle flowing river, waterfall, a pond or lake you can bathe in, just rest and feel the water moving about you, saturating you. How relaxing it may be!
The Water of Life. Do you feel differently when I use that phrase?
When we honor the beauty and sanctity of the Earth, and the living, vibrant nature of it, we enter a higher and higher resonance that brings us into that coherence.
Yes, the coherence of it.
The Earth resonates in a universal coherence that is easily discernible, remarkably vital, and informative to those who have ears to listen.
Be with her.
Let her speak.
Go into your heart and rest long enough that you can ‘hear’ her.
Know that it may not be in spoken words.
As ‘resonance’ is the language of the Earth, and all life forms.
The entire cosmos speaks in resonance.
In wave form. And every living thing is energy in motion. It is exhilarating, if we allow it to be, if we allow ourselves to experience it.
That is why so many of us can hear her words, the words of the subtle realms where the guides and holy beings await us, want to hear our prayers, our silence, our listening, and shower us with their love, their wisdom, their guidance, their blessings.
The Tibetan Bon culture has a beautiful way of understanding the blessings of those holy beings, the blessings of the subtle worlds. A phrase they use for ‘blessings’ is ‘gift waves.’
And what they say of those blessings is, the holy ones in the subtle, or pure realms, are constantly showering us with their blessings, their gift waves. And our task is, listen carefully, to come into ‘resonance with,’ and open to receive them.
Ah, you mean there is something I must do in order to perceive, or receive, the gifts of heaven?
Well, here it is so articulately spoken.
Simple words.
Simple advice.
And, it is like this in nature.
To come into resonance with, and open to receive the blessings of Nature.
Her beauty, her joy, yes, and incredible wisdom.
Sit quietly here with me, in nature, and listen.
Rest in your heart.
Let your breath rise and fall.
Let your mind come into a restful state.
If possible, a silent and receptive state.
Take your time.
Once you get there, listen, open, and receive.
What do you hear?
More importantly, what do you feel in the vast joy, tranquillity and beauty of nature?
The kiss of the wind, the elegance of that butterfly, the gentle song of the rolling brook. The call of the songbirds. But more, the beauty and joy exuding through it all.
If you are listening, that is what you will feel.
That incredible coherence of the fabric of life.
Resonating through the forests, the mountains, the deserts, the ocean.
The spark of life, that, by the way, arises through the inherent natural symmetries of the sacred geometries and sound.
That is where the understanding of sacred geometry arose. From the symmetry found in pretty much every living aspect of nature. The sounds of nature reflect this as well. From atomic structure to the structure of leaf patterns, floral patterns, patterns in seeds, fish scales, turtle shells, your fingers, arms, legs and torso…to bird calls, whale songs, the swelling of oceans. All follow explicit geometric and mathematical ratios of symmetry, balance, beauty and sound. Coherent resonance.
Rest in that.
And enter, here, within yourself, a living relationship with the living energies of nature.
For you are such a part of it, are you not!?

Some added texture to this conversation:
Some might ask, well how does this bring us into a ‘living’ relationship with the Earth?
Good question, and simple math is the answer….
So, please, bear with me again:
Every step is a step in that direction. Every step builds upon the last. Every moment of coherence and resonance with the Earth feeds into that moment in which you finally experience the Earth and all her allies, seen, and unseen, are in resonance, and in synchronicity with you.
By doing this, taking a moment here, then a moment there, today, tomorrow, and on, you feed into a living relationship, awakening your deeper core, your own inherent nature, which is in resonance, in coherence with hers, by its very nature.
This ‘greater whole’ we speak of is more interwoven than most of us commonly understand or experience.
More and more of us are coming into witness of this; but we have been taught to not believe in such things, as a society, and it can take a while to truly understand and experience. Oh, yes, and to trust. To trust that experience. For true understanding comes from direct experience. (I’m not making this up. Read Daniel Webster’s first common meaning of ‘to know,’ which is, ‘that directly experienced’…. This requires us to trust in our own experience, to truly know; it does not come from an outside authority. We are the source of our knowing, and thus, our empowerment. This is not the way most of us were raised.)
It cannot be birthed by rationale or logic alone.
It requires trust in those moments of synchronous resonance,
when the bird sings at precisely the moment we have insight, or a thought of someone we love, for instance, or experience the wind breathing in synchronous rhythm with us, or heaven forbid, we hear the trees talking, or singing to us. They are not called ‘singing leaves’ without reason.
Every moment you experience this resonance, the synchronicity and coherence build, step by step, moment upon moment, til we come into that moment, that realization within ourselves, as a breathing, synchronous whole. We are a part.
It is the very nature of how synergy and synchronicity build; in which the effect of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
There, when we come into this state of realization, we are living within the field of coherence of the Earth and all she is in relation to: her allies, the elementals, the star realms, the star beings, the heavens themselves; every living component of the universe is in resonance with us.
It reminds me of when my elder shared a simple and profound wisdom with me.
She said, “Zacciah, you know, if you put your awareness in your heart, in relation to the heartbeat (resonance) of the Earth, and the heartbeat of the Sky (the galaxy in her tradition), you will come into harmony (coherence), with All Life.”
Listen to it. Try it yourself. It is a simple practice.
And, as mentioned above, it is very simple math.
Heartbeat, within heartbeat, within heartbeat, entering synchronous union, Self, with Earth and Sky.
We are, each, the central axis connecting Earth and Sky.
When we purposely enter synchronous union, or harmony, or coherence with these two forces of Creation, we, quite literally, are in harmony with All Life.
More to come….
Many blessings in all that you do.
