The drum is considered the whole of Creation. The great wheel of life. The circle of life.
All of creation is contained within the drum.
When a maker knows this in the making of a drum, the maker weaves the knowledge of creation in their hands. When a drum is painted, this relationship with the great wheel of life is amplified.
