Doorway to the Ancestors
Opening the ancient pathways of listening, wisdom, and remembrance.
NOVEMBER 1, 11 AM - 4 PM, LIVE PRACTICE
At Samhain, we gather at an ancient threshold—a time when cultures across generations have turned their attention toward those who came before, the wisdom they carried, and the unseen relationships that continue to surround us.
This live online practice with Zacciah & Dorothy invites us to listen more deeply, opening pathways of relationship with the Ancestors, the Ancient Ones, and the wisdom that lives within and around us.
The Ancestors are closer than we may imagine.
When we speak of Ancestors, we may first think of those within our family lineages—the lives, stories, and memories carried through generations. Yet our ancestry reaches further.
There are ancient streams of wisdom carried through humanity, through the Earth, and through the living fabric of creation itself.
They are present in the stories and practices of peoples throughout time, and in our own capacity to become still enough to listen.
Stones have long been regarded as carriers of memory and wisdom. The natural world speaks through water, wind, plants, animals, sun, moon, and stars. And within our own bodies we carry memories and ways of knowing that extend far beyond the reach of our conscious minds.
What becomes possible when we learn to listen? This is the doorway we shall enter together.
Through sound, stillness, resonance, and guided practice, Zacciah and Dorothy will invite us to explore our relationship with these ancient currents of wisdom __not as something belonging only to the past, but as something alive and available to us now.
Together we will explore:
- Deepening our capacity to become still and listen.
- Opening relationship with the Ancestors and Ancient Ones.
- Exploring sound and resonance as gateways into subtle states of consciousness.
- Working with stones as carriers and repositories of memory and wisdom.
- Recognizing the ways the living Earth communicates within and around us.
- Strengthening trust in our own inner listening and knowing.
- Remembering our place within the larger fabric of life and creation.
The Earth is not separate from us. The waters that move through rivers and streams move through our own bodies.
The minerals held within stone are held within us.
We live beneath the same sun, moon, and stars that our Ancestors contemplated across countless generations.
Be still and listen. Listening is more than hearing. It is a way of entering relationship. We arise within the great fabric of life. The invitation is to remember our place within it.

Additional words from Zacciah Blackburn
We need but sit still and listen.
It is the art of listening, the art of coming into resonance with the innermost states, in relation to the worlds around, subtle and gross. It is the art of trust and knowing in the inner self, and the inner voice.
There is so much to hear. So much to align with, rebirth, claim as our inheritance, and Divine way of knowing.
These aren't simple things we touch upon. And yet they are: profound and full of wisdom and life. We've always had access to them. They reside within us.
We are a repository of this wisdom and life force. It resides within our cells, our bones, the tissue of our souls.
The Earth is in all things. Indeed, do we listen? She is here within us.
We need but be still and listen. This is an intimate sacred value, to be still and listen.
She speaks to and through each one of us.
Be still and listen. Do you not hear the voice of creation within you? Let it rise forth.
May you sing; join the song!
